Pung-Waan Resort is nesteled amidst 120 acres of the
tropical gardens, facing a 700 metres stretch of the Kwai Noi River.
As such, it has become the homes of many exotic plants and birds,
many of which are unique to only this part of Thailand. Guests,
children and their families can enjoy a "self-education"
activity at their leisure by learning the plants and birds species
names on the boards being put up all around the resort. Bird tour
and telescopes are also available at a nominal fee.
In addition, our resort houses a 10 acre
deer park which can be visited by appointment. There are 3 species
in this park, namely, Axis axis, Muntiacus muntjak, and Gazella
thomsonii. The former two species are local, where as the latter
has been imported from Tanzania. We are currently a part of research
group conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture to study the potential
of Gazella thomsonii as a farm animal.
